Many countries periodically take their banknotes out of circulation. The new bills circulate to replace the old bills and the old bills are considered out of circulation. National banks will accept the old bills for a short period of time and distribute only the new bills. Miami Money Exchange only accepts foreign currency banknotes that are in circulation, with very limited exceptions. For those, please consult us in person.

Miami Money Exchange accepts 50 cent, 1 euro, and 2 euro coins. We do not accept coins of other denominations.

If you conduct a transaction over $1,000, we will require your Social Security number and phone number as per federal law. If you are a tourist and conduct a transaction over $1,000, we will require your passport, address, and phone number from your home country.

It is not necessary to make an appointment for any of our services, unless the amount of money to be exchanged is considerably large. In that case we suggest that you always contact us by phone before going to any of our offices to verify stock and availability.

Comfort and tranquility. You may need local currency for tips, taxis, and other miscellaneous expenses. Obtaining local currency before you leave means you don’t have to worry about finding an exchange business as soon as you arrive. Also, exchange rates at airports are extremely high and often had additional fees.
